PALMS STUDENTS RETURN FROM COSTA RICA TRIP 2024!

The Costa Rica travelers returned on Sunday evening with lots of stories after their 9 day trip to the Caribbean side of Costa Rica. The kids measured, tagged and studied Leatherback Sea Turtles as well as helping out with some service work at the turtle station. We spotted wildlife on a boat ride through the rainforest, visited a local school, enjoyed a few hours of beach time at Cahuita National Park, toured the Veragua Rainforest Park, caught butterflies to identify the species and tour a butterfly garden at the park. We observed wildlife and insects on a night hike at the park, photographed the Arenal Volcano, swam in hot springs fed by the Arenal Volcano, white water rafted on the Sarapiqui River, toured the Asis Wildlife Rescue, learned about and ate dinner at a fully sustainable, organic farm and ziplined through the rainforest. Sorry we did not bring the sunshine back with us! Be on the lookout for our 2025 trip details and sign-up.

Trekkers 1

CHECK OUT OUR TREKKERS...The PALMS Trekkers came home from a great adventure in the American Southwest!

March 27th...Our Trekkers are flying home from the Southwest today! They scrambled the rocks at the Valley of Fire, hiked to the Emerald Pools of Zion, sled down the Coral Pink Sand Dunes (until they got caught in a sand storm), explored the hoodoos of Bryce, took in the beauty and wonder of the Grand Canyon, kayaked the Verde River, went off-roading at Red Rock, heard wickedly-western ghost stories in Jerome, and experienced the quiet of Sedona’s desert night sky. Check out their adventures on Instagram @nptrekit and stay tuned for information on Trek 2025!

See their adventures on Instagram.

Is your future 7th or 8th grader passionate about travel and eager to explore the science and culture of America's national parks? Stay tuned for details on Trek 2025!

SESAME STREET TEAM NEEDS YOUR HELP!

The following info and questionnaire will support our students as they head onto state competition for National History Day.  Thank you in advance for your participation.

Did you watch Sesame Street as a kid? If so, we need your help. We are a group of high school and middle school students participating in a competition called NHD. This year's theme is Turning Points in History, so we made a documentary about Sesame Street's impact on children's education and media. After winning the regional competition, we have a month to refine our project before the state competition. If you watched Sesame Street as a kid, we would love to hear from you. Please answer these two simple questions to help us gather information. We really appreciate your help with this!

Lily Clifford’s Artwork on Display at the BCIU

Lily Clifford was honored at the BCIU for their annual Bucks IU Student Art Gallery Reception for the 2024 school year.  The event is sponsored by the Bucks IU Visual Arts Advisory Council which displays one piece of artwork for all of the 13 districts that the IU supports.  Lily's piece was selected to represent Palisades at the BCIU for the next year, which is on display from January 2024 to January 2025 in The Gallery on the second floor of the IU.  If you're down at the IU please check Lily's work, she did amazing work!

Debate Team Wrap-Up

On Wednesday, March 20 the debate semifinal team participated in its last competition of the school year. This year's semifinal team proudly finished in 3rd place and missed the opportunity to compete in the final round by a narrow margin. We are so proud of Gianna Gammello, Sophia Schulz, Eli Mergott, Sam McCullough, and Lauren Shoemaker for their incredible dedication, hard work, and talents!
