ANNUAL K-8 ART SHOW CANCELLED:

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the 2024 K-12 Art Show has been cancelled.  Our art department looks forward to hosting the show next year, in the spring of 2025. Opportunities like this to bring our community together are important and we look forward to next year's showcase of the visual arts.

SOLAR ECLIPSE INFO
- The following letter was sent to staff and families this week on behalf of Dr. O'Connell, Superintendent:

I am very excited to announce that the Palisades Community Foundation has generously made a donation to provide solar eclipse glasses for all students and staff members in preparation for the total solar eclipse taking place on Monday, April 8, 2024. Building principals will communicate their plans to have students and staff have an opportunity to view the eclipse that afternoon.

The eclipse will begin in our area at approximately 2:00 PM and end at approximately 4:30 PM. Palisades schools are not dismissing early; however, parents/guardians who wish to pick up their child before 1:30PM may do so by contacting your child’s building secretary.   Please call 610-847-5131 - Durham ext. 3000, Springfield ext. 6000, Tinicum ext. 7000, PALMS ext. 1000 and PHS ext. 2000.

After-school activities at the secondary level will be held indoors until 4:30PM.  The makeup date for elementary swimming will continue as planned for this afternoon.

Again, I would like to thank the Palisades Community Foundation for purchasing the solar eclipse glasses and their ongoing support of our schools.

Thank you for your continued support.

Read Across America

Earlier in March, during Read Across America, the Springfield students took a virtual road trip around the lower 48 states and Washington DC. The route set out before them was over 15,323 miles long and every minute of at-home and in-school reading moved the bus one mile. The students and teachers kept track of their reading and not only did they make it back to Springfield by Friday, they read a total of 25,224 minutes!!! That’s almost 10,000 minutes over the goal! Way to go Springfield!

SESAME STREET TEAM NEEDS YOUR HELP!

The following info and questionnaire will support our students as they head onto state competition for National History Day.  Thank you in advance for your participation.

Did you watch Sesame Street as a kid? If so, we need your help. We are a group of high school and middle school students participating in a competition called NHD. This year's theme is Turning Points in History, so we made a documentary about Sesame Street's impact on children's education and media. After winning the regional competition, we have a month to refine our project before the state competition. If you watched Sesame Street as a kid, we would love to hear from you. Please answer these two simple questions to help us gather information. We really appreciate your help with this!
