PA MUSIC EDUCATORS ASSOCIATION PERFORMERS!  GREAT JOB REPRESENTING PALISADES!

On Friday, February 23rd, six of our Palisades Orchestra students participated in PMEA District 11 StringFest at Pottsgrove Middle School.  StringFest is a director-nominated festival that provides a high level of string playing experience to outstanding orchestra students in 5-8th grade across Bucks and Montgomery Counties.  The students had a great day of rehearsals, plus an amazing concert that evening! Please join us in congratulating these students for a great performance and an awesome day of music making!

Graduation Date for the Class of 2024

The graduation date for the Class of 2024 will be Friday, May 31st at 5:30 PM in Walter T. Rohrer stadium. The rain date will be Saturday, June 1st at 10:00 AM. More information will be forthcoming.

Wrestling Updates

Boys Wrestling

At the end of February, the Boys team competed in the District XI individual wrestling championships at Freedom HS (on Friday and Saturday morning) and at Liberty HS (on Saturday evening) in Bethlehem. Listed below are the medal winners:

2nd place- Danny Haubert

3rd place- Brock Schneiderwind

6th place- Diego Dominguez

Danny Haubert and Brock Schneiderwind advanced to the Southeast Regional Championships where Danny took 4th place.  He will wrestle in this State Championships this weekend!

Girls Wrestling

Also, the girls competed in the Regional Championships! Our team did great and had numerous medal winners. Listed below are the results:

1st place- Savannah Witt

3rd place- Bryce Snyder

5th place- Olivia Lessing

Our girls finished in 6th place out of 45 teams. Savannah Witt and Bryce Snyder advance to the 1st PIAA Girls State Championships...

Savannah Witt WINS PIAA Girls Wrestling Championship

Last weekend, at the 118 pound weight class Savannah Witt became the first ever District XI Female wrestler to win a PIAA State Championship! Congratulations to Savannah on recording this historical achievement!

Bryce Snyder also medaled and took 4th place in the state at 190 pounds! Overall, the Girls Wrestling team placed 4th out of 100 plus Girls teams!

PIAA Swimming Championships

Two weeks ago, Victoria Oldford placed 3rd in the District XI AA Breaststroke. As a result she qualified for the PIAA State Championship that will be held at Bucknell University this weekend!

Cybersonics Finished 1st

Last weekend, the Cybersonics team competed at Allentown HS in Allentown, NJ. At the conclusion of qualifying matches, the team was in 3rd place and was asked to join the number 1 seeded alliance. The team’s Alliance finished 1st in a very competitive field! The Cybersonics team also won the Quality Award that celebrates the machine’s robustness in concept and fabrication. Additionally, advisor, Blayne Wright, won the Don Bowers award for his outstanding work with the team! 

To top the day off the team qualified for the World Championships that will be held in Houston, Texas in April!

Part-Time Food Handler:  Part-time, 6 hours per day, 10 month, Food Handler position available at Palisades High School. Position available as soon as possible. Person applying must be able to perform routine kitchen tasks such as preparing and serving food, operating kitchen equipment effectively, and daily clean-up. Candidate will also prepare food orders, administer the National School Lunch Program, collect all revenues from daily sales, and prepare daily schedules. Hourly rate as per Support Staff contract. Head Food service position receives an additional responsibility compensation hourly rate as per Support Staff contract.

PENSPRA Scholarships

Each year, PenSPRA presents two, one-year scholarships worth $1,000 each. Scholarships will be awarded to one public school student from each of PenSPRA’s two regions. The candidates should have maintained at least a 3.0 GPA and have already been accepted at or applied to a two- or four-year college, vocational-technical school or other institution of higher learning. 

Completed applications for the scholarship must be submitted by Sunday, March 31, 2024. Incomplete applications will not be considered. The recipients will be announced in the beginning of May 2024.
