AMERICA250PA - IT ALL STARTED HERE!!!

On Thursday, February 1st, Durham Nockamixon was recognized as part of the America250PA Keystone Classroom Initiative.  The goal of this organization is to engage PA youth in learning more about our great state in front of the celebration of the nation’s 250th anniversary in 2026.  The goal of this initiative is to reach 50,000 students over the next two years and engage them in the role that Pennsylvania played in the making of our nation, as well as information about our state. Durham Nox is the only school in Bucks County that was selected for this program! America250PA will be selecting one school in each of the 67 counties in the state.

This week, we welcomed guests from the PA State Police and legislators like former PA Governor Mark Schweiker, PA Representatives Tim Brennan and Craig Staats, County Commissioner Robert Harvie, and staff from Senator Robert Casey’s office.  In addition, two college mascots and a Ben Franklin reenactor were at Durham Nox to create some excitement about the Pennsylvania story.  Our students in grades 3 and 4 participated in a special assembly and all grades enjoyed a story about PA read to them by one of our special visitors!  Also, all students received a “swag bag” with a few PA related items (coloring book, crayons, a popcorn treat, etc.) to enjoy.

We are so excited to have participated in this opportunity and our students enjoyed learning more about Pennsylvania!

2024-25 Course Registration Info.

On Tuesday, February 6th, there will be class meetings to explain the 2024-25 course registration process. Next week, an informational email will be sent to parents/guardians that explains the process. If you would like to review the 2024-25 Curriculum Guide, please click this link.

8th Grade Parent Information Night

On Thursday, February 15th from 6:00-7:30 PM we will host a PARENT Information Night for current 8th grader parents/guardians. If you know an 8th grader’s parent that lives in the district, please help us spread the word. Click this link for the letter that was emailed to 8th grade parents.

Unified Bocce Ball

Our Bocce Teams are having a great season! 2024-25 Technical School Application is OPEN 

Students interested in attending the Upper Bucks County Technical School for the 2024-25 school year must complete an online application.  The completion of the application is only necessary for students that will be new to the Technical school. The application is available using this  link and should be completed by February 9th. Completed applications are required to be considered for all shop areas.  Videos are available to review the programs through their website and students/parents are encouraged to view videos for shops for which they are interested in applying. 

Again, returning Technical School students DO NOT need to complete the application. ONLY those who did not attend the Technical school this year must complete the application.

COMING SOON FROM UPPER BUCKS COUNTY TECHNICAL SCHOOL:

Interested candidates must submit a letter of interest, an athletic resume listing coaching experience, and 3 non-family member references (name, phone number and/or email address, job title). Applicants with incomplete or missing information will not be considered for an interview. Position posted until filled.

Clearances will be required prior to beginning employment. Clearances may take up to two weeks for processing, so we strongly encourage interested applicants to start this process immediately. Required clearances include: Acts 24, 34, 114 & 151 (dated within the past 12 months of the closing date of this posting. Complete clearances  for “employment” not “volunteer”) and disclosure form(s) Act 168. If needed, please contact Sue Keogh, HR Associate, at 610-847-5131, extension 4028 for technical assistance completing the application.

Each year, PenSPRA presents two, one-year scholarships worth $1,000 each. Scholarships will be awarded to one public school student from each of PenSPRA’s two regions. The candidates should have maintained at least a 3.0 GPA and have already been accepted at or applied to a two- or four-year college, vocational-technical school or other institution of higher learning. 

Completed applications for the scholarship must be submitted by Sunday, March 31, 2024. Incomplete applications will not be considered. The recipients will be announced in the beginning of May 2024.

If you are interested in playing Spring Travel Soccer with Palisades YSA and did not play Fall Travel Soccer with us, please fill out this interest form: https://pysanet.sportngin.com/register/form/344644746

If you DID play Fall Travel Soccer, please let your coach know/RSVP in SportsEngine if you are/are not continuing this Spring.

Spring games are played mostly on Sundays from early April through early June with practices during the week.
