Sassy Massey 2022

From Mrs. Trisha Przyuski (3rd Grade Teacher at DN):  As you can see, with all the DN toys, we were able to  pack 8 boxes that will be delivered Monday morning to local hospitals. We also had many gift cards donated for teenage patients. This is amazing!

Once again, we have represented our Durham Nox community with such kindness and generosity. Thanks for always taking part in this holiday mission in honor of Jillian Massey. There are lots of smiles to be spread at hospitals this holiday season.

On behalf of the Massey Family and the Sassy Massey Smiles Foundation, THANK YOU!

Journeys Class Holiday Trip

PHS Journeys Students Visited the Giant Store in Hellertown Today:  Learning Life Skills – Every Student, Every Day!

From the class teacher, Dani Thomas:  Prior to our trip today, we created a breakfast menu for next week. Then, we researched the recipes to identify the ingredients needed for the breakfast & quantity. Before leaving today, students then created a shopping list on Giant to determine the approximate cost. We used this list in store today to ensure that we only purchased the items that were on our list. There were lots of temptations as we ventured down every aisle. We will use the items purchased to cook breakfast by following the recipes next week (day to be determined).

Prior to leaving this morning, students looked up the Hellertown Diner Menu & created a mock order for themselves. They estimated their cost prior to attending & practiced figuring out tip & change. At the restaurant, students sat at a table within close proximity of the teachers. Students demonstrated social skills (practiced during speech & social skills group) required to order, maintain small talk, etc. AMAZING JOB! At the end of the meal, students calculated their tip independently & change. Then, they had to count their change to make sure they received the correct amount. Such a great day seeing all these skills within the natural setting!

From Nov. 28 - Dec. 9, the Bucks County Free Library will be running a Virtual Library Card Drive for the Palisades School District:

During the dates of the drive, you will be able to register your child for a library card right from home, and your child will receive their brand-new Bucks County Free Library card at school. Whether you choose to visit the library in person or enjoy our services entirely from home, there is so much your child can do with a library card!

Ready to register your child for a library card? Here's how:

PSD AND PCF TEAM UP TO HELP THOSE IN NEED THIS HOLIDAY SEASON!

All donations are due on Monday - no exceptions!  We want to deliver to our schools on Tuesday, December 20th in time for family pick up.

The District Office is looking like Santa's Workshop.  There are so many presents and gift cards which have been generously donated by our community members!  If all of the outstanding tags come back attached to presents, we will have more than achieved our goal and covered our gift requests!

We are so thankful to all of you who selflessly donated to our families who need a little leg up this holiday season!

Donations to PCF are an option anytime - you can make a donation check payable to Palisades Community Foundation OR go to www.palisadescommunityfoundation.com to make a donation - any size donation will help a family at the holidays or over the course of the year as special requests come in from families in need.  These donations specifically kept in our "Neighbors Helping Neighbors" account. Thank you for your consideration!
