SPOTLIGHT ON SUCCESS!

As you might have noticed, the theme for our school year calendar is Spotlight on Success.  Each month, we have highlighted - in general terms - some of the programs, services, awards and philosophy that make our District successful!

For the remainder of this school year, the Patch will now include a brief "spotlight" on a program, service, student, staff member or other information that is worth knowing about Palisades School District!  There are many from which to choose, but if you want to know more about a particular area, just send an email and we can feature it!

THIS WEEK'S SPOTLIGHT:
FINANCIAL LITERACY IS A GRADUATION REQUIREMENT FOR PHS STUDENTS

Students taking Financial Literacy will learn the knowledge, skills, and processes required to make sound financial decisions and manage their own personal finances. Topics include: goals and decision making, budgeting, saving and investments, credit, money management, transportation, housing, risk protection/insurance. Speakers will be brought in to discuss specific topics based on content in each unit. All activities will be hands-on and will engage students in critical thinking, problem-solving and decision-making. This class is a requirement for graduation for all students starting with the class of 2021 (our current juniors). This course will count as ½ credit of the 6.5 elective credits.
